Where to Apply

This question first depends on what type of position you are looking for. You should first start with figuring out what field you would like to try to begin your career, whether it relate to your major or not. Then, start to look for open internships. Your first priority for internships should be through your college’s career services. These are important because it usually means that the companies look to recruit candidates from your school. Once you find the opportunities you want on the career website, you should check with the school for any networking events or career fairs involving that company. Make sure to attend anytime the company is at your school as the companies value your participation. Also, these events are great for giving you topics to bring up during your interview.

After looking for opportunities through your school, start applying to specific companies near you that may not recruit at your school. This can be through their company website, LinkedIn, Indeed, and more.

Your Application

The most important thing to avoid on your application is lying. Lying on your application is a sure way to not get the position and perhaps face discipline from your school. Other than that, fill out everything the best to your knowledge. There should be straightforward questions. Make sure to answer everything and do not make any mistakes as the application being wrong is not the reason you want to be denied an interview.
